Applications are invited for several PhD and MSc positions or undergraduate interns at the Department of Computer and Software Engineering, Polytechnique Montreal, Canada under my supervision. Acceptance is conditional to the availability of of funds (if required) and your performance to certain tasks.

École Polytechnique de Montréal is one of the top engineering schools in Canada and worldwide. Located in the heart of the city of Montreal, the school offers ample opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations and collaboration with the industry. The City of Montreal and the Province of Quebec offer one of the best environments for entrepreneurship and innovation, with a particular focus on the tech industry. Dr Fokaefs has recently joined Polytechnique having spent time as a postdoctoral fellow at York University previously and he is also holding graduate degrees from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. He has an extended network of collaborators in Canada and worldwide and industrial partners, most notably IBM Canada.

· Correlation between technical (performance, functional) and economic parameters of software change (DevOps/BizOps)

· Automated runtime technical and business adaptation of distributed software systems

· Web, mobile, cloud and Internet-of-Things systems

· Control theory for autonomic management systems

· Software Security

· Adaptive security for web software systems (SecDevOps)

Polytechnique Montreal is a French speaking University. Although some student activities are performed in French (most notably the courses), knowledge of French is desired rather than required, as research can be conducted exclusively in English. French courses are offered at no cost by the University for international students.
